CRUCK Barn in Appletreewick will on December 15 host a fourth appearance by Liverpool legend Ian McNabb.

The lead singer, songwriter and guitarist with 80s band The Icicle Works is returning by popular demand to the venue alongside the Craven Arms.

He is the latest guest at the music night organised by Plumhall, an acoustic duo who regularly play Keighley and the Worth Valley.

The Icicle Works scored a big UK hit with the song Love Is A Wonderful Colour and a hit in the US with Bird’s Fly (Whisper To A Scream), which later featured on the soundtrack to the film Scream.

Successful albums and tours followed, until Ian went solo in the early 90s.

His second solo album Head Like A Rock was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and featured Neil Young’s legendary band Crazy Horse.

Plumhall said: “Ian has continued to produce high-quality solo albums, even scoring a hit single in the early 2000s, as well as working with musicians from The Waterboys and Pentangle, Ringo Starr.

“Currently touring very successfully with a brilliant new version of The Icicle Works, it is a real honour to host another solo concert from Ian at the Cruck Barn.

“Expect superb songs, a rich and powerful voice, brilliant guitar-playing, a superb stage presence and the unexpected!”

Songwriting duo Plumhall, consisting of Michelle Plum and Nick Hall, will also play a set during the concert.
