THE A59 main road at Kex Gill, between Skipton and Harrogate, has been fully re-opened a week earlier than expected after work to repair the crash barrier and retaining wall damaged in a lorry accident was completed.
The concrete barriers which had been in place since the crash have been removed, as have the temporary traffic lights.
North Yorkshire County Councillor Don Mackenzie, executive member for Highways, said: “It was a priority for us to get this repair done as soon as possible and I am delighted it has been completed in time for Christmas.
"A lot of work went into making this a robust and full repair to current safety standards and we would like to thank everyone for their patience while it was completed.”
