A COFFEE morning to raise funds for peace education in the Craven Schools Project is due to take place at Church House, Grassington, on Saturday, January 6.
The project, a joint venture by the Grassington and District Peace Group and Skipton Quakers has already delivered copies of the Teach Peace Pack from the Peace Education Network, the Quakers’ ‘Conscience’ and ‘Conviction’ resources for schools and ‘Choices: Then and Now’ created by the Peace Museum in Bradford to the 37 primary and five secondary schools in Craven.
The intention is that they are used by teachers and pupils in class and in assemblies when needed.
A second stage of the Craven Schools project will see one primary and one secondary school having visits from representatives of the Peace Museum.
The visits will help pupils explore non violence and community co operation. If the pilot scheme is successful, it is hoped to offer funded visits from Peace Museum education staff to all schools in Craven.
Saturday's coffee morning will run from 9.30am.
