CELEBRITY chefs Gino D'Acampo and James Martin will be making their way to Skipton this summer for the third annual Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival.

Held for the second year at Funkirk Farm, between Skipton and Broughton, off the A59, the event will run over the weekend of July 21 and July 22.

Tickets have already gone on sale, and are going like hot cakes, say the Skipton based organisers.

For those who want to stay over this year's event will see the introduction of three nights of camping - or for those wanting something a little more luxurious, 'glamping'.

Once again, it will showcase the very best of food and drink from the region, with traders represented from artisan producers to award winning brands and products.

There will also be craft and lifestyle exhibitors.

People from Skipton business, Alexanders will be showing off their cocktail making skills with tricks galore in the festival's 'spirits and cocktails theatre' - a display not to be missed.

There will be free workshops in the 'makers area' and demonstrations on a local chef stage. A new 'culinary skills theatre' will also give festival goers plenty to watch.

A special VIP ticket will give visitors entrance to the festival along with a free glass of fizz in the exclusive VIP Tepee Bar, where they will be able to watch the celebrity chefs from the vantage point of special seats.

And there will also be plenty for children to do, including a vintage fun fair, pizza making classes, rugby tots and a disco on the Saturday night.

The weekend event will also include live music with tribute acts for Take That, and Olly Murs, both supported by bands from the area.

Rachael Higgins, marketing director, at Events By B3, said “This year’s event is set to be amazing. We have two of the loveliest celebrity chefs coming to Skipton this year and better still they are both from Yorkshire. It is set to be even bigger and better than our 2017 festival. Tickets are selling fast and all of our VIP tickets for Gino have already sold out”.

There will be free buses running from Skipton Railway Station and from the High Street all weekend to the event, with plenty of onsite parking,

People can even take their dogs along - as long as they are well behaved. Tickets are available online now from the website: yorkshiredalesfoodanddrinkfestival.com
