CONONLEY Village Institute is putting on its eighth beer festival this month, but this year with a gin twist.

With the support of property developers Candelisa, and a host of sponsors including Aire Valley Cleaning, the institute is putting on a Yorkshire Beer and Gin Festival.

The festival, which runs from 7pm to 11 pm on Friday, March 23, and from 6pm to 11pm on Saturday, March 24, will have ten beers and four gins, all brewed, or distilled in Yorkshire.

Doug Clark, the festival organiser, said: “Cononley Beer Festival is a celebration of real ale and quality gins from local suppliers.

“Every year it’s a fantastic community event, run and supported by our sponsors and volunteers to raise money for causes within the village.”

Candelisa is developing the Cononley mill site for housing through their Motor Works project, and their managing director, Guy Taylor, said: “We appreciate that our development is a significant change for Cononley and are pleased to help the local community through our support of the festival.”

The funds raised will be used for essential maintenance on the Cononley Village Institute roof.
