TWO wards in Barnoldswick and one in Earby will be contested in the Pendle Borough Council elections on Thursday, May 3.
A father and son will be challenging for seats in Barnoldswick's Craven and Coates wards.
David Whipp will be seeking re-election in the Craven ward, where he will face a challenge from Omar Ahmed (Labour) and Harry Purcell (Conservative).
In the Coates ward, Mr Whipp's son, Tom Whipp (Liberal Democrat), will be one of four candidates vying for the seat as Ian Lyons (Conservative), Heather Sheldrick (Labour) and Jane Wood (Green Party) are also seeking election.
Conservative Mike Goulthorp, the current chairman of the West Craven Area Committee, will seek to retain his seat in Earby, where he will be up against Charlotte Carman (Green Party), Doris Haigh (Liberal Democrat) and Yvonne Tennant (Labour).
