A GROUP of knitters who meet regularly at the Steeton Community Hub has handed over £746 to Cancer Support Yorkshire.
The Knit, Natter and Craft group has raised thousands of pounds for charity and raised the latest amount for Cancer Support, which has a centre in Skipton, at a coffee morning and craft table top sale.
The group also held a jumble sale and sold their crafts at a chemist in Steeton.
Diane Danby, group leader, said: "We chose Cancer Support Yorkshire as at the time we had members of the group whose family, friends and neighbours had been affected by cancer."
Helen Gatiss, client support adviser and community engagement officer with Cancer Support, said: "Thank you to the Steeton Hubs Knit and Natter Group for raising an amazing amount of money for Cancer Support Yorkshire, a local independent charity and the money will help local people and their families affected by a cancer diagnosis."
The group meets at Steeton Community Hub every Monday and Friday, from 1.30pm to 4pm. It costs £1.50 to join in - £1 of which goes towards the use of the hub, and 50p towards tea, coffee and biscuits.
