A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a 30-year-old man due to appear in court in connection with a crash near Ingleton that claimed the life of a Keighley man.

Terence Sutcliffe, of Cleveland Street, Colne, in Lancashire, failed to attend a hearing at Bradford Crown Court last Friday.

He is charged with causing the death of 74-year-old Rade Brkovic by dangerous driving on April 9 last year.

He is also accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving to Joan Brkovic, 70, in the same incident.

Sutcliffe was the driver of a Vauxhall Vectra involved in a collision with two other cars on the B6255 near White Scar Caves, between Ingleton and Hawes.

Mr Brkovic, who was driving a red MG, died at the scene, and Mrs Brkovic, his passenger, was taken to hospital in Preston for treatment to her injuries.

Judge Neil Davey QC issued a warrant for Sutcliffe breaching the terms of his bail, and listed the next hearing in the case for June 14.
