COUNCILLORS in Ingleton have given a warm welcome to a new-look food store and petrol filling station which will also help to boost community causes.
Councillors Carl Lis, Glenis Gaunt and Sue Brash attended the official opening of the Three Peaks Co-op store following a £2.2 million overhaul. Co-op members shopping at the store will help causes through the chain’s membership scheme, which sees donations made to Ingleton Pool Splash Park, St Mary’s School and the Cave Rescue Organisation and others.
Cllr Lis said: “We are constantly hearing reports of a decline in rural and local services and it is particularly encouraging that the Co-op has shown real support of the village and to our community. I thank the Co-op for its real commitment to the future sustainability of our village.”
