Bicycle recycling scheme thanks
SIR - As a member of the Rotary Club of Skipton I have been running a bicycle recycling scheme from late April until the end of June and wish to thank all those who have donated bikes, and those who have purchased bikes.
The £850 raised from the sale of 40 bikes is donated to the Friends of Aireville Park towards the cost of the new play area. 215 bikes have gone to prison workshops at Preston or Liverpool for stripping down, and then refurbishing. These bikes will then be given to those in need of a bike in this country or abroad through the Margaret Carey Foundation.
