CLAPHAM based charity, the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust is celebrating ten years of support from the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Over the last decade, the charity has received more than £1.6 million from the lottery, helping it to carry out a range of projects aimed at supporting the people, landscape and wildlife of the dales.
Michael Devlin, the trust’s development manager, said: “This incredible support has transformed us as a charity and enhanced all aspects of our work. It’s enabled us to continue long-running projects such as woodland planting while also helping us respond to the changing needs in our area through a number of new schemes. On behalf of all of us, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all staff and players of People’s Postcode Lottery for the incredible support which has enabled us to achieve so much for the dales.”
A few of the team from People’s Postcode Lottery recently visited the trust as it carried out work at hay meadows in Muker, as well as a n adult learning project in Askrigg
Laura Chow, head of charities at People’s Postcode Lottery said: “It is exciting to think that in 2018 YDMT passed a wonderful milestone: 10 years of support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery. This long term, flexible funding has allowed it to continue to deliver inspirational projects that make a big difference across the Yorkshire Dales.”
