STUDENTS at Settle College are again celebrating some excellent GCSE results, said assistant headteacher Suzanne Doyle.

“As always we are proud of all of our students and we never fail to be impressed by those who make massive strides despite facing difficulties and challenging circumstances, she said.”

This was particularly true of this year with the increased number of reformed GCSEs, which meant a greater number of final examinations undertaken, she explained.

Student Emily Carpenter was delighted with her grades and said: “I am overjoyed with my results and am looking forward to continuing my studies in the 6th Form at Settle College. I am very grateful for all the support given to me by my teachers.”

Likewise, Jordan Eyles said, “I am ecstatic with my results, especially Chemistry. I am thankful for all the help I received.”

Harvey Stroh, was equally pleased. “I am absolutely amazed at my results,” he said, “I have had a brilliant time at Settle College and am sad to be leaving.”

Of particular note was the strength of performance across wide ranging subject areas, notably English Baccalaureate subjects.

Executive headteacher Andrew Taylor said: “We are delighted that so many of our students performed so well in these very challenging exams. Our past year 11 students should be very proud of themselves.”
