SOUL TRAIN will steam into Glusburn Institute on December 8 to chase away the winter blues.

The dynamic seven-piece band will be at the arts and community centre to perform classic soul songs from the Stax and Motown labels.

Music lovers can expect hits by the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, and Sam and Dave.

Soul Train was formed by the three remaining members of Keighley’s popular 90s combo Soul Fish.

Soul Train now boasts powerful male and female singers, who together provide an energetic, flamboyant performance with outstanding vocals.

The singers are backed by drums, bass, guitar, trumpet, tenor and alto saxes, played by experienced musicians who have shared the stage with Aretha Franklin and Paul Jones or worked for the BBC.

A spokesman said: “Expect the sweet soulful sound of the late 60s and early 70s. Soul Train has the line-up to deliver an outstanding sound and performance, that continues to impress audiences, transporting them back in time with renditions of timeless classics.”

Coming up at Glusburn Institute on November 17 will be Carl & Dave Comedy Magic as the duo take their My Pink Bin Tour around the country. The show will mix comedy, impressive illusions and knockabout fun, promising fabulous family entertainment.

The Institute will host its annual insert before Christmas arts and craft fair on November 25, from 10am to 4pm, with handmade and hand-crafted goods. Sleeping Beauty is the title of Glusburn Youth Theatre’s 2019 pantomime, running from February 24 to March 2.
