MAINTENANCE work is due to start on a bridge on the A59 between Skipton and Broughton on Monday (October 1).
Essential re-waterproofing and resurfacing work to Inghey Bridge is expected to take six weeks, during which time two-way traffic lights will operate on the A59.
In addition, the Skipton local traffic A6069 Broughton Road junction will be closed during the work, with drivers coming from the Broughton direction diverted to the A65/Gargrave roundabout.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, North Yorkshire County Council's executive member for highways, said: “This resurfacing is part of our continuing highways maintenance programme across North Yorkshire. It will safeguard the bridge, benefitting all users in future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this work. This will be kept to a minimum and we appreciate people’s co-operation in ensuring the work can be carried out efficiently and safely.”
