AN AWARD-winning family firm based in Malhamdale is celebrating after taking gold in the first British Charcuterie Awards.

Wildman Charcuterie, at the Town End Farm Shop, took the top prize for its ‘Craven Longhorn Bresaola’ following fulsome praise from a panel of food industry judges including Henrietta Green, John Gower, Prue Leith and Xanthe Clay.

The Wildman family has been making cured meats for five generations, and still uses some of the original traditional Wildman family recipes. Company owner Chris Wildman said: “We were thrilled to win a gold for our Longhorn Bresaola, especially as it is a completely home-produced product.

“Our cattle are born and bred on the limestone pastures around Malham. So we know the provenance is impeccable and a true ‘farm-to-fork’ product.”

The awards ceremony took place at historic Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
