A 66-YEAR-OLD man has died after being struck by a train near Kildwick level crossing.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 7.45pm yesterday.

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP), together with colleagues from the North Yorkshire force and paramedics, attended.

The man, from Bradford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and the family of the man has been informed," said a BTP spokesman.

"A report will now be prepared for the coroner."

The Airedale railway line was closed for around two hours, and train operator Northern ran a replacement bus service.
