A TOP housing executive from Down Under has been on a fact-finding visit.

He spent four days on a trip hosted by Geraldine Howley, group chief executive of Keighley social housing landlord Incommunities.

Ben Moore, head of housing at AnglicareSA in South Australia, learned about the group's work and key priorities.

The visit coincided with national Housing Day.

"We were delighted to welcome Ben and share with him our approach to delivering housing services and also hear about the Australian model," said Mrs Howley.

"It was nice that the visit coincided with Housing Day, as social housing moves up the political agenda with consultation underway into the Social Housing Green Paper.

"The day was a real opportunity to highlight the excellent work carried out by landlords and residents."

Mr Moore said it was good to be able to meet his UK counterparts.

"We may be thousands of miles apart but we face similar challenges and it was great to share ideas and experiences," he added.
