THE CRUCK Barn in Appletreewick will kick off its autumn season of live concerts on November 16 with folk duo Gilmore & Roberts.

The acclaimed couple will return to the venue, behind The Craven Arms, in a season that also includes Dan Donnelly, Ian McNabb and Ian Prowse.

Gilmore and Roberts will arrive in Addingham following tours of the UK and Canada, and appearances at some of the UK’s biggest music festivals.

A Cruck Barn spokesman said: “The contemporary folk/acoustic act blend award-winning song-writing, astounding musicianship and trademark harmonies, switch 87499 to create a powerful wall of sound that Q Magazine has described as adding ‘indie drama’ to folk music.”

November 30 will see a much-requested return ex-Pele singer-songwriter, Ian Prowse.

Nick said: “Hailed as ‘the scouse Springsteen’, the big-hearted Liverpudlian brings his own Celtic Soul and rock ‘n’ roll to wow audiences across the UK.

Dan Donnelly, part of the Stockton-on-Tees pub-based male voice choir Infant Hercules, will perform a solo act at the Cruck Barn on December 7.

Growing up in Belfast, Dan Donnelly played in local bands, finding success in Ireland with Watercress, a four-piece acoustic folk-rock band for whom he played guitar, mandolin, percussion and a home-made didgeridoo.

Donnelly has toured extensively, performing solo shows and supporting artists such as The Levellers, Oysterband, Seth Lakeman, Damien Dempsey, and Duke Special.

The season closes in December 14 when former Icicle Works singer Ian McNabb returns to the Cruck Barn for the fifth year.
