CELEBRATING differences was the theme of a staff health and wellbeing day at Airedale Hospital.

More than 400 people attended the event.

There were over 30 interactive stands and several zones.

Among them was an inclusion zone with information about the work of the disability, LGBT, gender and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff focus groups.

Visitors could also enjoy mini treatments and receive their flu jabs.

Helen Hallam, a trans woman who has taught psychology to carers for 30 years, spoke about issues faced by the LGBT community.

There was music from the Sing from the Heart choir, demonstrations and a chance to meet Keighley College students with learning disabilities who are joining the health trust on an internship programme.

A free lunch and ice creams, sponsored by Sovereign Healthcare and the staff lottery, were available.

Nick Parker, director of human resources and workforce at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Our aim is to be an inclusive employer and healthcare provider for our local population.

"Events like these bring together colleagues from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences to learn, share and have some fun.

"I would like to thank all those involved, especially the organisers, external speakers and exhibitors and sponsors who contributed to making the day interesting and enjoyable."
