LEADING northern tenor saxophonist Jimmy Stuttard will join jazz and blues piano-vocalist Tom Seals in Skipton on November 6.

They will perform together during Tom’s next Gin & Jazz evening at Alexander’s bar.

Respected throughout the jazz and blues world, Stuttard has played at many of Europe’s top festivals including Glastonbury, as well as supporting Brandon Flowers, Levi Roots and Jamie Cullum.

Alexander’s owner Susannah Daley said: “Our monthly Gin & Jazz evenings with our resident jazz and blues pianist Tom have really taken off.

“Tom is an incredibly talented artist, but it’s still important to us to keep things fresh which is why we’ve added Jimmy Stuttard as special guest to November’s bill.

“Tom and Jimmy have played together many times, so expect some cracking renditions of well-known jazz numbers like Ray Charles’ Mess Around and Chuck Berry’s Johnny be Goode, along with stunning sax improvisation which Jimmy is renowned for.

“Booking is not necessary, although it is probably advisable!”

Alexander’s Gin & Jazz each month offers an evening of jazz from top boogie woogie pianist and singer Tom, who was recently nominated for Best Male Vocalist at the Boisdale Music Awards 2018.

Alexander’s opened within the listed 4-6 High Street, Skipton, a former doctor’s surgery, in summer last year following a £2.5 million investment.

The restaurant won the Stray FM ‘Best New Business Award 2017’ within 12 weeks of opening, and José year-round calendar of live music and entertainment.

Alexander’s takes its decorative and culinary inspiration from its Edwardian surroundings and the global Grand Tours fashionable in the early 19th century.
