COLOUR photography was commonplace by 1970 - which allows us to appreciate the colourful clothing of these pupils of Hellifield School in that year.
The picture is another sent to us by Allan Mason, of Jennygill Crescent, Skipton, whose daughter Beverley is on on the back row - and has named most of her fellow pupils.

Allan adds that Mike Steel was a good footballer, playing for teams in Hellifield and Grassington. And Hellifield’s Kenneth Leak is, of course, one of the Herald’s longest-serving local correspondents.
