STEETON dog breeder and handler Beverley Fort was among the lead performers at a top event.
She enjoyed success at Skipton Auction Mart’s annual autumn sale of working sheep dogs.
Beverley, of Brighton House Farm, impressed with two dogs acquired as eight-week-old pups.
Her nine-month-old black and white dog, Bill, a promising trials prospect, sold for 3,300 guineas to Bacup-based Jim Cropper.
The price was the highest of the day for a dog under a year old.
Bill is the ‘grandson’ of international supreme champion, Sweep.
Beverley also sold a second grandson, 14-month-old Max, for 2,900 guineas.
He was bought by Sharon Baxter – from Marshall Walker Farms in Maud, near Peterhead – where he will be put to work on the predominantly Mule-cross sheep flock.
