FACILITIES at Garsdale Village Hall and Mansergh Community Hall have been improved, with support from the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund (SDF).

Garsdale Parish Council was granted £4,688 to help it pay for the installation of air source heat pumps, as well as other energy efficiency improvements such as roof insulation and replacement LED lighting, at the Village Hall.

Mansergh Community Hall received £4,036 from the SDF to help pay for the building of a drystone wall and fencing to enclose the Hall’s new car park.

Member Champion for Sustainable Development, Chris Clark, said: “Garsdale Village Hall has an enthusiastic and dedicated group of supporters – and they are trying to use and heat the building in the most sustainable way they can.

“At Mansergh, the reinstated dry stone wall boundary has provided the finishing touch to the restoration and extension work at the Community Hall.

"The wall makes a positive contribution to the character and appearance of the listed building and helps to safeguard this important community meeting place.”
