STEAM engine fans will be taking the final opportunity this year to see the iconic machines at Barnoldswick’s Bancroft Mill in action on Sunday.

The mill’s 650 horsepower Roberts and 300 horsepower Smith Brothers and Eastwood engines will be running at intervals form 1pm to 3.45pm, with doors at the mill open from 10.45am.

As it is Remembrance Sunday, staff and visitors will be observing a silence at 11am in memory of those who lost their lives. And making a return to the mill is Sid Calderbank - better known as ‘Lancashire Sid’ - who will be joined by members of the Lancashire Society to entertain visitors with music and dialect poetry when the engines are not running.

There is disabled access to the majority of the site, free parking, a tea room, gift shop, a large collection of model steam engines on the historic site.

Guided tours will take place at various times during the afternoon. Admission is adults £6, concessions £5, family ticket £15.
