THE INSIDE story of organic tomatoes will be revealed in Glusburn on Friday, November 16.

Glusburn Cross Hills Gardening Society will host a talk by Terry Marshall at 7.30pm in the village’s Community and Arts Centre.

Terry has grown tomatoes entirely organically, both privately and commercially, since 1973. He grows up to 40 varieties both inside and outdoor, trialling new and old strains suitable for outdoor growing in the north as weather conditions change.

He is a regular writer for ‘Organic Gardening’ and ‘Kitchen Garden’ magazines and produces his own books, including his publication ‘Tomatoes’ from the Organic Garden catalogue, detailing history, growing methods and over 100 varieties.

David Allison will give a lively talk on the theme of ‘The Autumn Harvest’ on December 14.
