WOULD-be burglars tried to smash their way into an antiques shop.
The raiders used a large boulder to break a window at Heathcote Antiques, in Skipton Road, Cross Hills.
But they were unable to gain entry to the premises, and fled on a scooter or moped.
Now police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident - which happened between 12.09am and 12.11am yesterday - or has any information, to come forward.
"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident," said a North Yorkshire Police spokesman.
