A SCHOOL has been forced to close for the day due to problems with power, heating and providing meals.
Levendale Primary School in Yarm, near Stockton, will be closed for the day "due to multiple issues" with the school's power and heating systems.
The school will give updates later in the day regarding whether or not it will be able to open tomorrow.
In a post on Facebook, head teacher Richard Beadnall said: "Please note that in the interests of safety, due to multiple issues with heating and power, the fire alarm system and an inability to provide school meals as present, the chair of governors and I have had to take the decision to close the school for today.
"Further updates will be given regarding the state of play for tomorrow.
"Our apologies for the resulting inconvenience - this is not a decision we have taken lightly."
