ENVIRONMENTALIST Ellie Brown, from Ingleton, has become the youngest ever trustee at the charity, the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT).

Last week, the invaluable contribution made by trustees was celebrated as part of national Trustees Week, of which there are more than a million across the country.

Over the last 20 years, the Clapham based charity has been helped by its dedicated trustees, overseeing the delivery of a wide range of projects that support the changing needs of the people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales.

Ellie, 26, said: “Wildlife and the environment are two of my greatest passions and I’ve always been keen to get involved in local environmental projects. Being a trustee at YDMT has helped me take this passion to the next level, offering me the chance to contribute to the decision-making processes that determine the priorities and overall impact of the charity.

“I find my role really rewarding and I love the fact that, as the youngest member of the board, I have a chance to bring new ideas, priorities and perspectives, and to highlight issues facing local young people and the environment. I feel I am making a real difference in helping to address important issues in the Yorkshire Dales.”
