HERMIONE Roe and Cameron Green, both 13, collected a plethora of medals for City of Bradford at the North East Region Age Group Championships held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Roe, of Addingham, dominated her age group with regional titles in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and both the 100m and 200m individual medley. Her times of 2.38.21 and 27.26 in the 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle respectively were both club records.

She also claimed bronze medley position in the 50m butterfly and fourth in the 100m butterfly.

Green looked impressive in winning his age group 50m breaststroke and 50m and 100m freestyle.

City of Bradford had a silver lining when he finished in second place in the 50m and 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

To add to his impressive collection of medals, he placed third in the 50m and 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke and claimed fourth place in the 400m individual medley.

Meanwhile, competing in the Open Age Group, Cameron Mander, 15, grabbed a new Swim England National Winter Short Course qualifying time of one minute 9.48 seconds in the 100-metre breaststroke to finish in 12th place.

Another top 10 place went to Ellen Winters, from Guiseley, who finished a creditable 10th in the open 100m individual medley.

Sam Akers (1), from Keighley and Archie Minto (3), of Burley-in-Wharfedale, both secured top 20 places.

All swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
