GIGGLESWICK School Chapel will provide a fittingly grand venue for Langcliffe Singers' performance of Mendelssohn's stirring and dramatic oratorio, Elijah on Saturday, December 8
The work depicts events in the life of the Biblical prophet Elijah, including the resurrection of a dead youth, the bringing of rain to parched Israel and the ascension of Elijah on a fiery chariot into heaven, ending with prophecies and praise.
Under the baton of musical director Nigel Waugh, the choir will be accompanied by the Brayside Orchestra, with soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music.
The concert will take place at 7.30pm on December 8
Tickets at £12, are available from Capella, in Settle Town Hall, Bentham Post Office and on the door.
