SKIPTON Girls High School and Ermysted’s Grammar School feature in The Sunday Times top ten best state secondary schools in the North of England.
The girls school is placed second, after Ripon Grammar School, while Ermysted’s is in sixth place in the 2019 list.
The Sunday Times School Guide, aims to be the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools, and identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK based on recent examination results.
Skipton and Ripon MP Julian Smith said: ‘I am delighted to see that three local schools are in the top spots. We are very lucky to have so many good schools in our area, and I congratulate all the schools recognised for their hard work over the past year.’
Now in its 26th year, the Parent Power guide aims to help parents compare the performance of schools. It also links up to individual school websites and to most recent Ofsted reports.
It also lists the top independent secondary schools in the country.
