MORE than 100 guests enjoyed a Christmas lunch organised by Skipton Craven Rotary Club at Ermysted's Grammar School refectory on Sunday.

The event had been organised with help from Tesco, Skipton, Carers' Resource, Age UK North Craven and students from Craven College.

The day included festive drinks and entertainment from Jamie Squire and Jasper, along with carols sung by the Cononley Singers.

Partygoers also enjoyed bingo and a raffle.

Guests came from as far as Bentham to what is hoped will be an annual event, in the memory of the late Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox, to promote and celebrate companionship and friendship for those who may need it at this time of the year and to build a more united society.

Skipton Craven rotarian and organiser David Squire welcomed everyone and thanked the chefs who came from Tesco for a wonderful meal.

Rotary Club President John Exley said: "It is wonderful to see so many of you here enjoying companionship and good food at this special time of the year. It is hoped that this will become an annual event for our district.”
