TAPAS restaurant chain La Casita has just celebrated the opening in Skipton of its fifth restaurant.

Doors opened last week at 10 Mill Bridge to ‘The Little House of Tapas’ where it will serve its ‘Andalusian tapas food, alongside traditional wines and cocktails.

Chefs and entrepreneurs Simon Miller and Oliver Renton opened their first restaurant in Ilkley in 2014 and have gone on to open further establishments in Horsforth, Leeds and Boston Spa.

Simon has recently moved to Skipton with his family. He said: “I’ve always loved Skipton and since moving here we’ve seen what the town has to offer. We’re looking forward to welcoming locals to La Casita, bringing good food and drink with a Spanish twist to a thriving community.

“We pride ourselves on the experience our restaurants create -carefully curated dishes with great flavour and creativity, all set in a beautifully intimate restaurant.

“Our vision is to bring the taste of Spain to the wonderful little hamlets of Yorkshire. Since opening our first restaurant we have had so much support and are extremely grateful, as without it we wouldn’t have been able to expand and continue to grow in the future.”

Simon said that the chain continues to go from strength, and now employs 50 people.

An investment of around £70,000 has been made in Skipton site, with a further 10 jobs created.

There are growth plans for 2019, and the team will continue to new ways to bring this popular cuisine to diners, Simon said.

The La Casita team will also be looking to introduce a series of ‘meet the supplier’ evenings with the aim of supporting the producers behind the food and demonstrating the traceability of where the restaurant sources its ingredients from and the close partnerships it has. The chain has also launched a La Casita Loyalty App, where customers can earn points, get money off future dining and access exclusive offers.

The app is available to download from the App Store or Google Play.
