SKIPTON Soroptimists, family and friends turned the world orange at their Yorkshire-themed carol concert at Skipton Castle.

Members and guests wore orange in support of the End Violence against Women project.

A mix of traditional music and festive readings from the pen of Ilkley-born TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh to six-year-old Hollie Simpson set the tone and the support of Skipton Ladies Choir was an early Christmas present.

Proceeds from the evening supported Independent Domestic Abuse Services and the Soroptimist MERU project. Special thanks were expressed to Diana Chambers who co-ordinated the concert and to those who provided mince pies and mulled wine.
