THERE will be a buzz around Glusburn next month.

Andy Brown is giving a talk on Beekeeping for Gardeners, at Glusburn Community and Arts Centre.

Anyone is welcome to attend the event, on Friday January 18, at 7.30pm.

The talk is being hosted by Glusburn and Cross Hills Gardening Society.

Mr Brown is a Green Party district councillor and retired education executive, who lives in Cononley.

“People may have read his frequent articles which illustrate his own very amusing take on all things rural and horticultural,” said a society spokesman.

“In his retirement Andy has enthusiastically thrown himself into beekeeping, and he is going to bring his experiences – both planned and unforeseen – to our meeting. Expect to be informed and entertained!”

Admission is £4, or £3 for members, including coffee and tea.

The talk takes place in the baths hall of the institute building, in Colne Road.
