THE GREATEST Showman is coming to Glusburn – and you can join him in a singalong.

The village’s Community and Arts Centre is screening one of the biggest films of recent years on January 6.

It’s the new Sing-A-Long version of the movie, starring Hugh Jackman as circus impresario PT Barnum, and it can be seen from 2.30pm.

The PG-certificate film features songs like A Million Dreams, This Is Me, Rewrite the Stars, The Greatest Show and Come Alive, familiar from the pop charts and TV adverts.

The Greatest Showman won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

Arts Centre administrator Sarah Golding said: “The Greatest Showman tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a mesmerising spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.”

The movie also stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Rebecca Ferguson, and portrays the creation of the world-famous Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.

Released in December last year, the film made $434 million worldwide, making it the fifth-highest grossing live-action musical of all time. Doors open at 2pm and tickets cost £5 for adults and £4 for children.

The Arts Centre, also known as Glusburn Institute, will host regular films in 2019.

February 1 will see Phantom Thread, set in the glamour of 1950s post-war London. Dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are at the centre of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutantes and dames with distinct style.

The Post, on March 8, stars Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in the true-life story of US newspapers who in 1971 took a brave stand for freedom by reporting on the Pentagon Papers, a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned four decades and four presidents.

Peter Rabbit, on April 5, is a family-friendly adventure movie for Easter based on Lakeland farmer Beatrix Potter’s famous animal characters.
