BARNOLDSWICK-based charity Bosom Friends invited members and guests of the Rotary Club of Barnoldswick and Earby to a social evening.
The event took place at their recently acquired 'Cancer Support Centre' based in premises in Green Street, Barnoldswick.
Ashley Greaves, one of four trustees, welcomed everyone with a brief talk about the history and formation of Bosom Friends”.
It was started by Mary Brennan, who herself was diagnosed with cancer 18 years ago.
A group was formed to raise funds with the object of giving support to local people whose lives had been affected by cancer. During this time over £250,000 has been raised through donations, events and sale of goods through the Bosom Friends charity shop in Barnoldswick Town Square.
After a pie and pie supper, cheques were presented to Mary from the Rotary Club Ladies' Section and from President of Rotary, William Taylor.
Following the meal, everyone was invited to look around the vast premises which are currently undergoing extensive refurbishment work.
At the close of the meeting, Rotary President William Taylor thanked everyone at Bosom Friends for their hospitality and assured them of the continued support from the Rotary Club of Barnoldswick and Earby.
