MEMBERS of the indoor bowls section at Gargrave Village Hall met for their last competition recently before their break for the holidays.
It was also Mary Rushton's last day as secretary of the group; the role will be handed over in 2019 to another Gargrave resident, Gerry Griffin.
Mary initially shared the secretarial job but for the past five years has undertaken the work herself. Gargrave Village Hall chairman Peter Perls presented Mary with a bouquet of flowers in appreciation for all her excellent administration work over the past years. Gerry on behalf of fellow indoor bowling club members presented Mary with some photographic memories and a signed card of thanks.
The section has around 30 members in total with an average of around 20 players attending each session with three mats in play. If anyone is interested in joining the group, contact Gerry on 01756 749277.
