CROSS HILLS firm Brooksbank Valves helped a host of local good causes with fundraising throughout 2018.

Staff raised more than £700 for Manorlands hospice with efforts such as collections, a festive raffle, and donating money they would otherwise have spent on Christmas cards.

Brooksbank Valves also raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support through a coffee morning earlier in the year.

And staff helped organise donations of food from across the Yorkshire Dales for the company’s annual Christmas hamper giveaway.

A spokesman said: “This year there was enough donated to create 13 food hampers. They have gone to a variety of members of the public who needed them, as well as Pendleside Hospice and the Salvation Army.

“This is the second year that we have supported Manorlands. We all know of the positive work that goes on there.

“It’s a large part of the community and we are proud to support it, and are proud of all employees who have contributed to these fundraising events throughout the year.”

Brooksbank Valves design and manufacture a range of isolation valves in a variety of alloys, used in naval defence, oil andgas, marine and chemical environments.
