CLAPHAM Cave Rescue Organisation volunteers battled foggy conditions to reach a female walker who had slipped and fallen on limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove.
The team was mobilised at 2.25pm on Sunday. Visibility was very poor due to low cloud and the pavement was extremely slippery.
The casualty, 69, was located by CRO team members and treated for a suspected lower leg fracture. With care, the casualty was carried on a stretcher to a CRO vehicle for transport down to Malham village and transfer to a Yorkshire Ambulance Service team.
