PUPILS of Ermysted's Grammar School are celebrating the publication of the first edition of the school's new newspaper - The Reason.
Named after the school's motto 'Suivez la Raison' , the newspaper includes articles on politics, news, arts and sport.
Under the editorship of year 13 pupils, Sam Healey and Alan Vaz, articles were submitted from all years, and funds for the publication were raised by a team of sixth formers.
Skipton Building Society and MC Sports provided the sponsorship, which meant it could be professionally printed, and ensured a sell out first edition.
The pupils now hope to enter the paper in the Shine School Media Awards, for secondary schools who produce newspapers, magazines, podcasts or websites.
Teacher, George Barrett, who helped with the paper, said: "I am very proud of the efforts of the editorial team, in particular, for putting together such an impressive project in the space of half a term. The boys worked incredibly hard and the first edition demonstrates the range of talent and opinion across the whole school.”
