MEMBERS of the choir of Holy Trinity Church, Skipton, appear happy to be taking a break from reaching the high notes during a break outside the church back in 1969.

This is another picture provided by Chris and Linda Windle, of Long Meadow, Skipton, and Chris is one of the cherubic younger singers on the picture.

Chris recalls: “The curate, extreme left, was John Bird. The choir master, extreme right, was John Brown. Among the adults are Mr Wiseman, and Mr Mashiter.

“Of the older boys I recall Keith Stallard, Harry Booth, Michael Watson, John Pollard, Hugh Turner and Nick Mellor.

“Amongst the younger ones, as well as myself there are the Ellwood brothers, David and John, the Thackray brothers ,Andrew and Mark, Derek Stallard, Paul Atkinson, and Richard Day.”
