SILSDEN people are being asked to ‘profile’ dogs who foul the streets and owners who do not clear up after them.
District and town councillor Rebecca Whitaker has asked for detailed descriptions of both animals and owners so they can be visited by Bradford Council dog wardens.
Cllr Whitaker issued the called after wardens agreed her request to put warning signs up in Woodside Road and nearby Briggate.
She had been approached by residents of Woodside Road fed up of dog mess on the pavement.
Cllr Whitaker said: “The evidence would suggest it’s the same dog and the same owner. Usually it’s only a small minority of people responsible for such problems.
“I’ve told the residents that we need any information they have to identify the owner and dog. People are highlighting the problem on social media, but they need to help us identify them too.
“The wardens need to log the incidents, build up a profile of the offender then go to visit them. The wardens are being very proactive and people can report things in the Bradford Council website, times and description of the owners and dogs.”
