PINSUTI, the Ilkley and Skipton chamber choir, together with an ensemble and some talented soloists will be performing Bach’s masterpiece St John Passion at Christ Church in Skipton on Saturday, March 9.
St John Passion is one of JS Bach’s most famous pieces of sacred music, telling the story of Christ’s passion and his death on the cross. The choir will be singing it in the original German - a translation will be provided - to bring it most fully to life.
It will be a particularly poignant concert for the choir as members will be singing in memory of member Jane Dobson who died suddenly last August.
The proceeds of the concert, after costs, will go towards Jane’s favourite mental health charities, Mind and Mencap. The concert will start at 7.30pm, tickets £12 on door , or via Eventbrite, search Pinsuti St John.
