THE first meeting of a proposed new monthly LGBTQ group for Skipton is to be held at at Skipton Library on Saturday, March 2.
Helen Hallam, secretary of a well established LGBTQ group in Keighley, said it had been decided to form a Skipton group because of the increasing number of people from Craven coming to the Keighley meetings.
“Our group was part of Equity Partnership in Bradford but last year the group decided to become an independent community group. We felt the LGBTQ community in Keighley and Craven was better served by having the community make its own decisions and being able to concentrate on the issues which effect us.The meeting, which is open to anyone over 18 years old, will take place from 11.30am and 1.30pm at Skipton Library, High Street. To find out more, contact the secretary, Helen Hallam on lgbtkeighley@gmail.com.
