A CAMPAIGN to eradicate polio will be marked with the screening of a biographical drama about a man who was left paralysed by the disease.
The one-off screening in Horsforth will highlight the 30 year Rotary campaign which has come tantalisingly close to its mission to End Polio Now. The number of cases have been reduced by 99.9 per cent but fundraising to complete the task is still a priority.
Aireborough Rotary is joining with Leeds Trinity University to screen Breathe - the 2017 film telling the story of Robin Cavendish who became paralysed from the neck down by polio at the age of 28.
The film will be shown in the university’s conference suite at 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 30. Tickets cost £5 and light refreshments will be available. To book a seat contact gdavies621@btinternet.com or call 0113 2588074. All proceeds will go to the End Polio Now campaign.
