ALADDIN, Charlie and Ariel will help children learn how to sing, dance and act like West End stars.

Professional stage performers Gemma Pipe and Will Breckin will use songs from hit musicals when they pass on their skills at Glusburn Community and Arts Centre.

The pair, from Theatre Works Academy, have run several successful musical theatre workshops in the recent past at the arts centre.

They will return in March 17 with songs from Disney musicals Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, and on April 28 with songs from Footloose and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The sessions for seven to 16-year-olds will include coaching on vocals, acting, performance and dance technique, taught by Gemma and Will from professional experience.

Arts Centre spokesman Sarah Golding said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for children to work with professionals from the West End and UK number one touring shows.

“Will is currently appearing the in the world-premiere UK and Ireland tour of Benidorm Live. The show has a celebrity cast and he understudies five of the characters as well as being in the show every performance. Benidorm Live is running until April.

“Gemma is currently in the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as a handmaiden and dance captain. She will be visiting Leeds for two weeks with the show in June.”

Both workshops will run from 9am to noon on the Sundays, and places cost £15 each.
