The Sultans Of Swing are a Yorkshire-based 21-piece big band set up in 2014 by musical director Tracey Thorne and manager/compere Julian Maxfield.

The band is made up of musicians from across the area, each with a varied background from the worlds of brass bands, concert bands, music teachers, and musical instrument retailing and repairs.

Initially they had just 12 weeks to learn 28 pieces for the first booking at East Riddlesden Hall, and now they rehearse every Tuesday in Baildon for regular performances across the area.

The Sultans have a singer, Ian Stewart, and female singers performing Andrews Sisters hits.

The Sultans perform well-attended annual gigs for good causes such as Manorlands or Beechcliffe Special School, and headline events like 1940s weekends, the Conversazione in Saltaire and the Grassington Festival Saturday Night Dance.
