CRAVEN GPs are due to take over Skipton Parkrun on Saturday, April 13 as part of an initiative to encourage the least active and those with long term health conditions to participate in a weekly run.
Dr Kirsty Pettit from Dyneley House Surgery, who will be ‘race director’, for the day, said: ‘We are very pleased to be asked to take over the Skipton Parkrun for a day. It is a great, free event, and we would encourage anyone to come and take part.”
The 5km run takes place every Saturday from 9am and involves a loop around Aireville Park. Part of a national movement, it is run by volunteers and is fun and free way of getting active, with all the positive benefits that brings.
The GPs run on April 13 will start with a special warm up by Hun Tun Tai chi, and afterwards there will be hot refreshments at the Revive Cafe, in Craven Leisure.
