POSSIBLY the smallest Joseph ever to grace a stage, Marley Atkin will play Joseph in Settle Amateur Operatics Society Court House KIds' production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the Victoria Hall, Settle for three performances at the start of April.

The multi-award winning musical, first performed in 1970, has toured in more than 80 countries but is a first for SAOS. The story of Joseph’s journey through Egypt from being sold into slavery by his cruel and jealous brothers, to serving as Pharaoh’s right-hand man is told entirely through song. With choreography and direction from a young and dynamic team of assistant producers, supported by the society’s long standing director and musical director team, this show promises to entertain the whole family.

Marley's dad, James, was the lead singer with the band EMF and Marley seems to have inherited his dad's talent.. He's hoping to meet up with the rather more famous Joseph, Jason Donovan, who is appearing at the Victoria Hall on May 1. Society members are also hoping for a good luck message from Jason.

A spokesperson for SAOS said: "Jason Donovan has just announced that he will be playing Pharaoh in the West End production in June this year, but we think our young Pharaoh, Cameron Dewhurst, could definitely be a good understudy for him. Cameron's Elvis moves have to be seen to be believed.

"We have an amazing cast of talented young people between the ages of eight and 15 years old. Their vocal and dance skills deserve full houses. Watch out the West End."

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat will show at the Victoria Hall on Thursday, April 4 and on Friday, April 5 at 7pm, and on Saturday, April 6 at 1pm. Tickets from: settlevictoriahall.co.uk
